How to play — Legacy
Field guide for the original desert run — matches the in-game Info button on the play screen.
Controls, scoring, and what you see while you run.
The idea
Side-scrolling sky run: pairs of cactus gates slide in from the right. Fly through each gap without touching spines, the ground, or the top of the screen. Gravity pulls you down; each flap lifts you up. The world gradually speeds up as your score rises (with an upper cap so it stays fair).
While you're playing
- One continuous run until you crash — no levels to pick; difficulty ramps automatically from your score.
- Each gate you fully clear (both posts scroll past without a hit) triggers a score tick and may show a silly taunt line — those messages are flavor only.
- Rainbows float in some gaps: grab them for points and a timed boost (see Scoring).
Controls
- Tap / click / touch on the game canvas (or Space / ↑) to flap upward.
- P pauses; tap Resume on the HUD to continue. Opening the in-game Info sheet also pauses the run.
Scoring
- +1 every time you safely clear a cactus gate (both halves move past your unicorn).
- +5 when you touch a rainbow orb. You also get a 3-second rainbow boost: gentler gravity and a slower-feeling scroll. Picking up another rainbow refreshes the timer instead of stacking extra seconds. While that boost is active, scraping a cactus won't end the run until the boost wears off.
- The large number on the HUD is your total run score so far.
HUD
Lvl is your difficulty band — it steps up as score grows and matches what leaderboards store as level reached. Score is your point total for this attempt. Pause / Resume sits in the center while you play.
Game over
Hits outside rainbow boost — cactus, floor, or ceiling — stop the run. You can enter initials and submit when the server is available; use the menus for daily and all-time boards.
Leaderboard
After a run, enter initials to post a qualifying score. View boards on the game or the main leaderboard hub.
Soundtrack
The official Legacy theme is on Suno. Full videos and audio are on the music soundstage.
